By Ibn Qalam

The longest road to self is ever dark,
Obstructed by the walls of inner doubt,
And childish fears of dangers in the park,
Come night creeping when no one is about,
Awake the relentless agony screams,
Determined in its cruellest intent,
To scupper ones best intentions and dreams,
Consigning all hope to the same descent,
For courage is only a word until,
Its raised up and given determined mind,
The demons who decide you can’t fulfil,
Ambition, volition the two combined.
Deep down inside where your secrets are held,
Is rebirth, hope and might unparalleled.
