SAD

By Bill Cox

Winter closes in around me
Like the walls of a dark pit.
Life becomes monochrome,
Devoid of colour.
I try to climb out,
But in my mind I feel hands grasping
Clawing
Pulling me down,
Down.
Into the black recesses
I fall,
Into that horrid singularity
I tumble,
Where dreadful thoughts
Embrace me
With
Their
Suffocating
Inescapable
Gravity.
